French property for sale 14th-century Château close to Bordeaux Gironde

20 min from Bordeaux, fine family Château with 820m² of net living area, built in the 14th-century, fortified in the 16th and 17th and modified in the 19th, surrounded by its own spring fed moat with running water of almost 5000m³ in a park of 4ha.

Fully restored family Château, originally constructed in the 14th century (the foundations dated from the 12th century), fortified in the 16th and 17th and modified in the 19th-centuries, surrounded by its own spring fed moat with running water which widens and forms a pond. Living area is 820m². In the enclosed wooded park (4ha) rare species, stream and swimming pool of 12m x 6m.

The property may be used as a main residence and/or as a luxurious Chambres d'hôtes.

The main view is overlooking the valley of the river of Dordogne.

The four fronts of the Château are very sunny alternatively and jointly together.

This is a rare château to have this kind of setting with its own spring fed with running water and be in such a good condition and be listed as conservation area of about 25hectares, ensuring a protection against all constructions.

The square tower dating 14th-century has been repaired in the pure original style by the “French Companions” in 1990.

The South-facing terrace has been restored in 1995, according to its original structure. It has been covered by paving stones and the cement steps of the outdoors staircase have been replaced by steps in stone, according to the original design.

The roof of the Castle has been repaired in 2002 according to the Historical Monuments with traditional antique tiles.

To enter the Château, you have to take a unique little original (but large enough for a car) stone bridge with two arches.
